Tidal River Wilderness
Capturing the raw beauty and diverse landscapes of Victoria's pristine wilderness

Australia’s Southernmost Wilderness
Tidal River, located in Victoria’s Wilsons Promontory National Park, represents some of Australia’s most pristine and diverse coastal wilderness. This collection documents a multi-day exploration of the area’s unique landscapes, from secluded freshwater pools to dramatic granite coastlines.
Wilsons Promontory, affectionately known as “The Prom” by locals, is a place where mountains meet the sea, creating an extraordinary variety of ecosystems within a relatively small area. The park is home to native wildlife, ancient granite formations, and some of the most beautiful beaches in Australia.
The Landscape
The photographs in this collection showcase the remarkable diversity of environments found within the park. From the reflective calm of hidden freshwater pools to the dynamic energy of waves crashing against billion-year-old granite, each image captures a different aspect of this pristine wilderness.
The area’s remoteness and protection as a national park have preserved ecosystems that exist nowhere else. The interplay between land and sea has created unique microenvironments that support an incredible variety of plant and animal life.
Conservation Legacy
Wilsons Promontory holds the distinction of being Victoria’s oldest national park, established in 1898. This collection aims to document not just the visual beauty of the landscape, but also its ecological significance and the importance of preserving such places for future generations.
Each photograph serves as both an artistic expression and a conservation document, capturing the essence of a place that remains largely unchanged from how it appeared to the first peoples who called this land home thousands of years ago.
